M.O.R.E. - turn-based 4x space strategy game on Kickstarter

The game is based on "Master of Orion 2" and will have:- 3D turn-based spacebattles,- 3D galaxy map,- 20 races,- technology tree with dedicated tech branch to every race- spaceships created from predefined blocks by player- over 10h of epic music,- cutscenes- and many many more of unique features! Some nice visuals and I really liked the planets, hard to tell what combat will be like in real-time so it would be nice to see a whole engagement.

Our combat will be turn-based, and we think that we won't show it to you until our Kickstarter campaign ends. It's only 2 weeks.. and creating full combat engine will take more time...We wanted to show you how our combat will look like.

I have nothing against 3D per se, but I wonder if it's really worth the development resources for this kind of game. It's certainly possible to make an incredible 2D game, and the graphical content costs next to nothing. But I suppose that's a bit off-topic...Looking forward to seeing another 4X game, just hope it shines amongst the other (not so good) ones to come out recently (star ruler, endless space, etc).
