Came across this project while looking for some updates and it looks very promising with the flight mechanics and art style they are using. It doesn't look like your traditional shooter and that's what I think I like most about it.Homepage: http://www.krakenempire.com/index.html
Quote:
WHAT IS KROMAIA?KROMAIA is a 3D, fully physics based experimental action game, placed in a strange and hostile universe governed by rules to be discovered by the player. This immersive experience, in which traditional interface elements as well as text do not exist anymore, goes beyond the space shooter genre boundaries and sets a new standard: Spatial and physical awareness, insight, tactic and reflexes in exchange for survival.HOW DOES IT WORK?An underlying solid, optimised engine makes KROMAIA what it is: A reality, since everything seen on screen is actually there; an experience entirely driven by true physical forces and supported by a powerful time control system. In a continuous, constantly evolving environment like this, there could not be two identical runs.Every entity present in KROMAIA uses a modular assembly format easily imported from XML files. A great tool allowing full customisation, including propulsion system arrangement, energy supply distribution or weaponry features. This modular system will allow modders to create new units, controls, features and game mechanics and use the same engine to play their mods easily. Check it out and let us know what you think and keep this on your radar.

So I take it that those spinning circles in the video around the ship represent the movement/thrust locations to move your ship. I like the video a lot because it shows off the smoothness of your flight engine. What happens to debris or asteroids when they collide with something? In most games nothing happens or they never collide. Will the physics in Kromaia take charge and you will see what would really happen, like seeing pieces getting broken off and those pieces and large pieces go off into other directions.Looking forward to when you have the control demo out so I can play around :)

Just having a look at the vid I would say lose the trails or make them shorter as it a bit confusing, it also looks like the weapons fire is coming from behind the ship some times. I would also dump the pew pew sound effect as it been way over used and has become a bit of a running joke.

Looks like Kraken Empire has been quietly working on their game engine since the last time I played in their very early build. Sorry for the late update since this was posted in late Aug.

Nice to see you around again Antodologo and that Kromaia is still alive and well. In watching that video looks like you have some interesting environments and some of those bosses look really cool. Has there been anything new added to Kromaia since your last alpha test build that people may be interested in?

This is a great trailer showing off all the new features and physics you have put into Kromaia. Great job!

Congrats on finishing Kromaia. It's been a while since that first post I made about 4yrs ago. I hope it is selling well and I hope everyone checks the game out because even in its early stages it was fun to play and definitely different and challenging. But looking back the visuals and the action have both been stepped up for the release. Game is getting some nice comments on Steam as well.

Will do, one think I notice from the early builds that is different is the art. Does Kromaia support a game pad?
