Limit Theory: An Infinite, Procedural Space Game
RE: Limit Theory: An Infinite, Procedural Space Game
Wow I had never heard of Limit Theory but reading this thread was epic. What a roller coaster. As a game dev (but nowhere this level!) I really felt each victory and defeat in my bones. LTR looks like a fun idea and best of luck with it!

@bfett The occasional update here would be nice. Discord won't allow me to read anything on their site (I've never even posted anything on it!).
RE: Limit Theory: An Infinite, Procedural Space Game
July 24th is the anniversary of Josh releasing his code to the public, so we try to make an update on the discord around that time of year. Some of the highlights from the last year of development include the creation of a launcher for LTR which installs and updates the game, the creation of the game design doc which we will be using to help prevent scope creep, and many UI and engine related features. We are on track to begin work on gameplay features starting next year.
PS: It looks like I am not allowed to link to google docs. Please check the discord post for the working link.

Sorry @bfett, I upped the threshold on link posting to I believe 5 posts before they would be valid. Cause spammers have been hitting the site hard. I can also edit your post and put your desired link in it as well.
As always feel free to post anything about LT development
Nice to see that the engine is starting to get to a place where further development can start.

Re: Limit Theory: An Infinite, Procedural Space Game
Sorry I continue coming in about once a year, I'll try coming more frequently.
Development continues.
I've been working on fleshing out game mechanics with the team and have produced a couple documents that are currently in the works and should be beneficial with defining a path moving forward. We have brought on 2 developers who are interested in the project and we have been bringing them up to speed on where we are and what our project goals are. We are looking for more talent so if anyone reading has skills in Lua and would like to contribute to a open source project we will gladly use the help.
