Came across this, I haven't had the time to checkout this repo but if its truly de-compiled you should be able to update the old engine over time, looks like you do need to provide the game assets (DATA dir) to the build buy will be interesting what people come up with over the next year or so ...

This will be basically a mod since you will need the original assets from FL, but this mod is being done in UE5 and its looking really good so far and will be interested in how it comes out. Yeah there is a difference between the web crawlers that have been around forever indexing pages but these bots today are just hammering the sites and sometimes bringing them down, to what end. This is a very niche website that is focused on one thing and why a bot farm would focus on SSC is unknown ...

I posted last night and this morning i couldn't login to the site i was getting a 504 error, thanks to ChatGPT we figured out why:
