RE: Joystick Recommendations?
<t>Yes, i know about the Cougar.Hands On Throttle And Stick ..I'm a programmer, developing a game ... and i love space-sims. Not the biggest fan of realistic combat flight sims like F16, .. etc. If i was, rest assured that the Cougar would be my primary option. One more thing is that i don't know if ...

RE: Joystick Recommendations?
It's a "Force" stick, it's got Force feedback. The package contains a transformer which you plug in AC (hence the blue light) so that the force actuators can work. The "standard" 3D Pro doesn't have it.

My First one was a Sidewider programmable Throttle & Stick (can't remember the model) that just died one day.I've replaced it with a Logitech Force 3D Pro. It's not a bad stick (has force feedback) but my first one had too many programmable buttons to forget ...

RE: Why is Space Sim Gaming so unpopular?
<r>Ok, i know i'm reviving a very old post but i couldn't help myself. It's a very interesting question so i'm going to give you the 3 main reasons of why space sims are so unpopular.1. People are "ground" dwelling beings which means that we're not accustomed in operating in the air/space.2 ...

RE: Planetary Rendering: Outerra and more
<r>Ok, that was a humorous post of mine so delete it if you feel it doesn't serve the thread.Games are not about knowledge of a programming language. They're about math, algorithms and modular programming structure. That's the foundation of game design and development. I agree that copy/paste can ...

<r>@scratt (this is a humorous post, not to be taken literally).Reminds me of my first project ... we utterly failed <E></E> but we were young and quite inexperienced in such projects. We foolishly thought that since we can make the rendering engine sing and we know how to make applications ...

<r>Ok, this is hilarious and no i'm not and don't want to insult anyone. First and foremost, a rendering engine is not a game. If you manage to render a nice scenery (opinions vary), congrats you've made it to the moon. Your destination however is the Andromeda galaxy so don't get your hopes too ...

<r>@Darkone: Regarding the video and the pre-flight check i can say that if the actual procedure on this helli is as shown, then it's a Simulator alright. If it's entertaining to some people, they can call it a Game but since it's a common practice for a word to be defined by majority, i wouldn't ...

<r>The basis of my argument was "how FUN is interpreted in the Game Industry Area" (I'm not in the Game Industry though, and not intent to be). <r>I really wouldn't like to talk about this subject but since it's a common thing, here i go.First, having a team or being a part of one has many challenges and none of them has anything to do with skill but with communication. Things don't just come crushing down suddenly. They progressively work ...
