Dan Dare film

Wont a mean a thing to any one outside of the Banana Republic of Great Britain,but it looks like they are going to make a film based on the comic character Dan Dare.Just hope it not as bad as that bloody Thunder Birds film,With Sam Worthington as Dare.

The thing that gets me about Dan Dare is why did they take so long to get around to making a movie?

There was an attempt to make a TV series in the early or mid 80s but it never came to anything,did'nt know about the computer-generated TV series,will have to look out for it.

I have never heard of this character before? Is there any cartoons about Dan Dare?

Loads he first appeared in the Eagle comic which ran from 1950 to 1969,then appeared 2000AD from 1977 to 1979,then in the relaunched Eagle comic from 1982 to 1994.The last one was a seven issue comic published by Virgin Comics in 2008,most of the early strips have been reprinted in Collected editions.Never seen the cartoon series so I no idea what its like.
